Ginger Clarke decided to move her store 180 steps to a new location. She wanted a store that was like Barnes & Noble or Starbucks. This was to be a store where you want to go, where you will pay a premium to enjoy the experience as well as the product. That is what Ginger Clarke, GRID/3 and Levine Design Group created. The plan is meandering, created by GRID/3. Clients love it although they don’t understand how the layout affects them. They love the lighting, designed and specified by GRID/3. Clients have a sense of exploration. The existing cases were revamped with a few new ones added. There is a watch repair shop at the entrance with the Rolex department right behind it. Low VOC paint used throughout, Bissazza tile manufactured out of recycled glass tile adorns the entrance and an energy bill 30% less than the original, smaller store emphasize the environmental friendliness of the space.
“With the low wattage LED lighting GRID/3 designed, our electrical bill is one third of its former amount, even though we have 25% more space in our new store and operate on three levels instead of one.” Ginger Clarke, President, Clarkes Jewelers.
