SATHER’S LEADING JEWELERS Julie Sathers wanted to create a lodge-like feeling in the converted bank she renovated for the new Sather’s Leading Jewelers. Ruth Mellergaard used colours like ochre, claret, sand and purple and materials like moss rock cladding columns to reflect the Colorado locale and feeling. A restored 45-foot tower clad in moss rock provides dramatic signage and entrance. The 4000 sq. ft. space is filled with daylight; five and eight-sided island cases, like opened links in a chain-link bracelet, provide interest and unexpected views for shoppers.		“Working closely with Julie, I played with the colour to create the ambience and used customer-focused planning to design a brand wall for Hearts on Fire Diamonds, behind which service personnel use two-way mirrors to watch the store while they work,” says Ruth Mellergaard.
